How Long Are My Files Stored?

jpg.now stores uploaded and converted files temporarily- Just long enough for you to download the result. Retention periods differ between guest sessions and registered accounts. Once the retention window expires, both the source and output files are permanently deleted.

The clock starts at the moment the conversion completes, not when you first visit the download page.

What Gets Deleted

Both the original uploaded file and the converted output file are removed when the window expires. Download links become invalid immediately after deletion. No backup copies are retained on jpg.now servers after deletion.

How Automatic Deletion Works

A scheduled background job runs periodically and removes files whose expiry timestamp has passed. This is fully automatic - You do not need to request deletion manually, though you can re-download any file within your retention window from your dashboard if you have an account.

How to Extend Your Retention Window

Create a free account to extend retention from 24 hours to 7 days at no cost. For files you need to access for up to a year, Premium ($9.99/mo) gives you 365-day retention. Premium Plus ($29.99/mo) stores your converted files indefinitely. For any plan, you can also download the output promptly and keep a local copy.
