Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of jpg.now (the “Service”), operated by Targa Ltd. By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

jpg.now provides browser-based image conversion, editing, and related tools. The core conversion tools are available free of charge without an account. Premium features are available through paid subscription plans described in Section 4.

2. Accounts

You may use the Service as a guest or by creating a free account via Google Sign-In. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account. Accounts are personal and may not be transferred or sold, except that Premium Plus subscribers may share up to 3 seats with members of their organization.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You may not:

• Upload files containing illegal content, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that violates copyright or other intellectual-property rights, or malware;
• Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm any person;
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or security controls through technical means;
• Resell or redistribute the Service itself (as distinct from converted files, which are addressed in Section 6);
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or stress-test the Service beyond the API limits provided by your plan;
• Upload files you do not have the right to convert or distribute.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice or refund.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

4.1 Plans

jpg.now offers the following paid subscription tiers in addition to the free tier. Prices vary by currency and billing cycle:

The currency charged is determined by your location at the time of purchase and cannot be changed after subscribing. All prices exclude any applicable local taxes (e.g. VAT). Current feature details are described on the Pricing page. We may adjust features within a plan with reasonable notice.

4.2 Billing Cycles

Monthly subscriptions are billed on the same date each month. Annual subscriptions are billed as a single charge once per year on the anniversary of your subscription date. Annual billing is non-refundable except as described in Section 4.4. By subscribing you authorise us (via our payment processor, Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis in the selected currency and cycle until you cancel.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from Account Settings › Subscription › Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period (month or year); you retain full access to paid features until then. We do not issue prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period, except as required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.

4.4 Refunds

If you are charged in error, or if you cancel within 48 hours of your first subscription payment and have not made significant use of paid features, you may request a full refund by contacting us. For annual subscriptions cancelled after 48 hours, refunds are not issued for the remaining months unless required by law. Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days and returned to the original payment method.

4.5 Taxes

Prices displayed are exclusive of taxes. Depending on your country of residence, VAT, GST, or other local taxes may be added at checkout by our payment processor in accordance with applicable law. The tax amount will be shown before you confirm payment.

4.6 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days’ notice via email or a site-wide notice. Existing subscribers are notified before any price change affects their renewal. If you do not accept a price change, you may cancel before your next renewal date and the new price will not apply to you.

5. File Handling

Uploaded files and converted outputs are stored temporarily according to your plan’s retention window (24 hours for guests, 7 days for free accounts, 365 days for Premium, indefinitely for Premium Plus while the subscription remains active). Files are automatically and permanently deleted when the retention window expires. We make no guarantee of continued availability of conversion results within the retention window due to technical failures, and you should download and save important outputs promptly.

If your Premium or Premium Plus subscription lapses, your account reverts to the free-tier retention window. Files beyond 7 days old may be deleted as part of that transition without additional notice.

6. Intellectual Property and Licenses

6.1 Your Content

You retain all rights to the files you upload. You grant jpg.now a limited, non-exclusive license to process your files solely to provide the conversion service you requested. We do not claim any ownership over your content.

6.2 Converted Outputs

Converted files you download are yours. Free, Free Account, and Premium users may use converted files for personal and internal business purposes. Commercial license (redistribution, client deliverables, inclusion in products sold to third parties) requires a Premium Plus subscription.

6.3 Our Intellectual Property

The jpg.now name, logo, interface, and underlying software are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service itself.

7. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may perform maintenance, add or remove features, or temporarily suspend the Service with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate planned downtime in advance. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Targa Ltd (operating jpg.now) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or the equivalent of $10 USD in your billing currency, whichever is greater.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Targa Ltd and its officers from any claim, loss, or demand (including reasonable legal fees) made by a third party due to or arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party right.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which jpg.now is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the competent courts of our operating jurisdiction, as determined by applicable law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via a site notice or email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
